US envoy Matthew Palmer told Radio TV Kosovo that Washington wants to see Kosovo integrated into the European Union and EuroAtlantic community.
Palmer said that he and EU envoy Miroslav Lajcak came to Pristina to stress the importance of Kosovo’s constructive engagement in the Belgrade-Pristina dialogue, work on full normalization of relations with Serbia and open the door to a European future for the people of Kosovo.
He said that the US and EU are working in partnership on the dialogue. “The dialogue process is being conducted by Kosovo and Serbia with the help of the EU and strong support of the US,” he said and added that there are no differences or contradictions in views between the US and EU. “We are going in the same direction. We want an agreement on full normalization of relations between Belgrade and Pristina, Serbia and Kosovo, which would ideally focus on mutual recognition which would open the European journey for both countries,” Palmer said.
